Emily Kimball

Emily Kimball, The Aging Adventurer, is a vigorous proponent of going for your dreams at any age. At 62 she rode her loaded touring bike across America. Almost ten years later she completed her 9-year 2,168 mile hike on the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. Along the way she hiked and biked in some of the most beautiful places in the world.

Emily is living proof that you can pursue your dreams at any age—and it doesn’t take long for her audiences to realize they can do it too!

In her lifestyle planning business, Make It Happen! Emily encourages others to age creatively, take risks and make their dreams happen. A dynamic, energetic, inspirational older woman, Emily applies the lessons learned from her adventures to motivate seniors to create active and involved lifestyles in retirement.

The resources that have sustained her in her various adventures are ones that she believes everyone has access to – the ability to pursue dreams and work to make them happen through focus, determination, planning and taking risks. Profoundly energized by the satisfaction she has gained from her own experiences, Emily’s enthusiasm is as inspirational as it is contagious.

In addition to motivating people to take action, Emily has made it easy for other aspiring adventurers by collecting many little-known resources and publishing, A Resource Guide for Aging Adventurers: Unusual and Sometimes Inexpensive Opportunities for Volunteering, Learning, Traveling and Adventure..

Emily has keynoted State Conferences on Aging in South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, Maryland, South Carolina. Pennsylvania and Texas, and speaks across America on Aging issues. For further information check out www.TheAgingAdventurer listed below.
